A belated Happy New Year to you all!

Well, things have been up and down these last few months.

My laptop got knocked off the desk by one of our cats (I KNOW IT WAS YOU, GUY), and the screen shattered. I was using the TV as a monitor for a few weeks while a replacement screen arrived. I am proud to report I installed it myself and it worked perfectly... but I still ordered a new, bigger, faster laptop. I ended up selling the old one the day before the new one arrived.

Marriage and family wise things are OK. Mom brought me coffee from Panama for Christmas (YAYYYY!!!!), and I spent a few days with her at a friend's in New Jersey. I packed light because it was just a weekend, and still had to get a second duffel bag. I was also gifted a fancy large purse, which is now my Art Bag.

As for writing and drawing and other forms of arting... I've been EXTREEEEEEEEMELY unproductive. I plan to remedy that this new year. I'm working out a schedule so I can actually learn at least three bass riffs by the end of the year, update all three of my currently on-hiatus fics, and draw a few illustrations for said fics as well. (BTW, Beyond-All-Poptarts and ratluck1, the art plan includes the "poster" for The Once and Future Platypus, with the OCs you guys were so kind to lend me.)

Since my last update, Monty has continued to improve; he's now a happy-dancing hound whenever he thinks a treat is coming, and is the undisputed owner of the right side of the couch. Well, semi-disputed, my father in law will contest him for the coveted corner spot.

I think I need to get rid of the bed in the guest room/office and swap it for a sofa bed with a small footprint so I can get my sewing machine set up properly. I need the practice, and the curtains upstairs could use some shortening and hemming...
